Sean Lewis

Consultant
Green Signal

Sean founded Green Signal ITS Consultancy in 2016 but his work in the sector started many years before. He started his career as an electrician and advanced quickly to become an electrical inspector and accredited trainer for 9 years. His career then moved into project management, electronic automation systems, and eventually landed in the technical area of traffic control systems and operations.

Sean’s extensive knowledge of CCTV, system integration, and wide area networking has also been instrumental in connecting the street surveillance systems in Kaiapoi & Timaru to the Christchurch Crime Prevention Camera System. He has also managed operational budgets of nearly $1M, projects in excess of $3M, and gained wider knowledge in the Intelligent Transport Solutions (ITS) sector.

In 2011, Sean became part of the Signals NZ User Group (SNUG) committee and got the 2012 conference going. In 2013 he was nominated and voted as the chair of SNUG.

During his time at Christchurch City Council, Sean used his extensive data-networking, and ‘automation & control’ knowledge and experience to move Christchurch forward in the field of both established and leading-edge Intelligent Transport Solutions (ITS).
