Allan Gillespie

Allan Gillespie is a civil engineer with nearly 20 years' experience delivering and managing infrastructure across local government, consultancy and construction in New Zealand and South Africa. As Senior Engineer - Infrastructure Operations at Invercargill City Council, he provides technical leadership across transport and infrastructure maintenance services and is responsible for supporting the delivery of safe, reliable and cost-effective infrastructure outcomes.

His experience covers the full asset lifecycle, from planning and design through construction, maintenance and renewals. Allan has a particular interest in practical, data-driven asset management and recently led work assessing streetlight column condition and corrosion risk to support renewal prioritisation and investment decision-making.

He is a Member of Engineering New Zealand (MEngNZ) and is currently progressing toward Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) registration.
