A new industry award has been launched to recognise individual achievement in the New Zealand roading sector.
The Rising Star Award is for the standout person aged under 40 in the New Zealand roading industry, defined by their achievements during their career to-date.
It is being organised by Freeman, convenor of the Future Roads conference. Managing director Matt Freeman says that recognising and celebrating excellence is an important component of any industry. “The Rising Star Award will become an industry benchmark for individuals on the move,” he says.
Individuals can either be nominated or self-nominate.
Judging of the award will be conducted through an independent judging panel comprising Lynette Ellis – Christchurch City Council, Scott Ford – Isaac Construction, and Neil McLoughlin – NMC Consulting.
Freeman has a strong background in running industry awards programmes. It has run the New Zealand Energy Excellence Awards for the past 13 years and has also run the Minerals Sector Awards.
Entries must be submitted by 21 August 2024.
Finalists will be announced 11 September 2024 with the winner announced at the Future Roads dinner at Claudelands Events Centre, Hamilton, 20 November 2024.
