TERMS AND CONDITIONS

This page sets out the terms and conditions for the products of Freeman Media Ltd, trading as Freeman.

Freeman operates a number of subscription-based websites, conferences, events, and publishes research and industry maps. It also operates an online store. Links to these products can be found on the main company website www.freemanmedia.co.nz

These terms and conditions are governed by and will be construed in accordance with the laws of New Zealand. You submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New Zealand.

GENERAL

Early Bird and Super Saver prices will only be applied if payment is received, in full, no later than 5pm on the date specified. You will be re-invoiced should your payment not be received by this date.

We reserve the right to cancel any conference 20 days from the event start date. If you are travelling to the event, we recommend that you do not make travel or accommodation bookings prior to this or make flexible bookings that will not incur a cancellation fee.

Delegates are responsible for their own travel/accommodation bookings and no compensation will be made should the event be rescheduled or cancelled.

Entry to an event is for the registered individuals only; ticket sharing is not permitted.

DELEGATE CANCELLATION POLICY 

If you are unable to attend, you have two options:

  • a substitute may attend in your place
  • confirm your cancellation by email at least 30 days prior to the event to be considered for a refund (minus a $300+GST service charge per registrant). Regrettably, no refunds can be made for cancellations received after this date

COVID-19 TERMS

The organisers are running the event in accordance with current COVID-19 Sector Guidance and may postpone or run the event online if required. Delegate bookings and sponsor inclusions automatically transfer to the new event.

AGENDA UPDATES

Freeman reserves the right to make amendments deemed to be in the best interest of the event. The agenda/outline is correct at time of printing; please check online for any updates.

FEES

Credit card payments attract a fee, which is specified in the online store.

TERMINATION OF SERVICE

Without prejudice to any other rights and remedies available to us, if we consider that you have breached these terms and conditions, we may immediately and without written notice to you, suspend or terminate your access to the products you have purchased.

LIABILITY

Freeman (the Organiser) is not liable for any loss or damage as a result of an alteration, cancellation, or postponement of this event. If the event is altered, rescheduled, postponed, cancelled, or rendered inadvisable, impracticable, or impossible due to a fortuitous event or unforeseen occurrence, the Organiser shall not be liable for any loss or damage directly or indirectly arising from a failure to perform any term of this contract. For the purposes of this clause, a fortuitous event includes fire, armed conflict, disaster, civil commotion, government restrictions and/or regulations, riots, terrorism or an act of terrorism, any emergency, curtailment, suspension and/or restriction on transportation facilities/means of transportation, or any other cause beyond the reasonable control of the Organiser. No refunds will be made.

AMENDMENTS

We reserve the right to change these terms and conditions at any time. By continuing to access this website, you agree to be bound by the amendments. We recommend you regularly review these terms and conditions.

CODE OF CONDUCT

Freeman is committed to creating quality events within safe and respectful environments for all attendees to share knowledge, express their thoughts and opinions, and network. Our code of conduct requires all attendees and stakeholders to act in a manner that is harassment-free and respectful of people in a public environment, be it gender, age, sexual orientation, disability, race, or religion. 

The code of conduct requires that speakers’ presentations and content offered in the various formats within our events to be respectful and devoid of content/images of a sexual or discriminatory nature.

The code of conduct also extends to:

  • inappropriate approaches of a sexual nature and aggressive behaviour
  • offensive comments, questions, or posts made on event engagement technology, and/or other online media platforms

It is our expectation that attendees will act in a responsible manner in regard to alcohol consumption.

It is our expectation that attendees will act in a safe and responsible manner concerning being healthy and well in attending events and in accordance with Covid-19 public health guidelines.

Any attendee deemed to be violating the code of conduct may be sanctioned or expelled from our event without refund, at the discretion of the Organiser.
