Cara is a road maintenance professional with 24 years’ experience working primarily on full-service maintenance contracts (e.g. PSMC, NOC models). She recently joined Ventia from Waka Kotahi, and is keen to share Ventia’s expertise with a variety of clients across New Zealand.
Cara studied engineering geology and started her career as a Project Manager in the road sector after graduating from the University of Waikato. She is a self-confessed road maintenance nerd and both her father, brother and partner have all worked in various civil roles over the years.
Having spent most of her life in Waikato and Bay of Plenty, Cara has three step-children and a daughter, aged from six to 20. Her weekends are busy caring for them, along with a few sheep, chickens, and her epic vegetable garden.
Cara has a Masters in Engineering Geology as well as a Diploma of Business and has undertaken a number of certifications during her career. Her most recent achievement is graduating from the level 3/4 course in Te Reo Māori at Te Wānanga o Aotearoa.
