I work within a team of ITS and traffic engineers to provide a highly functional CCTV and traffic signal network delivering Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) and traffic services to our Bay of Plenty stakeholders. I design, implement, and manage Tauranga city's wide area public surveillance camera network which includes crime prevention, traffic monitoring, and council facility CCTV systems. We are also responsible for transportation related ICT services, communications, and complex ITS infrastructure, connecting traffic signals, VMS signage, CCTV cameras, and parking systems using a mixture of fibre optic, ISM band wireless, and VDSL using both our own and contracted service providers. The Tauranga Transport Operations Centre (TTOC) provides services to Katikati, Tauranga, Rotorua, and Taupo whilst managing ITS infrastructure for NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi to the Bay of Plenty region. Our stakeholders include TCC, WBOPDC, BOPRC, RDC, NZ Police, and NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi.
