Katherine (Kat) Ricketts of Waihanga Ara Rau plays a key role in working closely with the Construction and Infrastructure Services sectors. She facilitates wider cross organisation understanding of the sectors’ skills needs and helps ensure those needs are met now and in the future. She’s at Future Roads to actively listen to industry to understand their perspectives on their future workforce needs, and to collect and interpret these insights to inform Waihanga Ara Rau strategies. Ultimately making sure industry opinions and needs shape Waihanga Ara Rau investment advice to the Tertiary Education Commission.
Kat’s background includes being a qualified carpenter, commercial construction SME owner, and leadership and governance roles in various organisations. Currently, she’s the Wellington Chair of the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC).
