Simon has been involved in the Civil Construction industry for 20+ years with a wide variety of experience – from on the ground, to leading a team managing Temporary Traffic Management impacts occurring within Christchurch boundaries.
Simon started as a Traffic Management Coordinator (TMC) with Christchurch City Council more than 14 years ago and has progressed into a leadership role, heading a team of nine TMCs and on-road compliance officers. Simon has an in-depth knowledge of how to coordinate and progress works in a way that enables the Christchurch network to continue to function safely for all.
Simon's vast experience includes involvement in the Christchurch rebuild, Roads of National Significance projects, assisting security operations as part of the aftermath of the Christchurch mosque shootings and many high profile sporting events such as SailGP and the 2015 Cricket World Cup opening ceremony, alongside business as usual operations in the Road Controlling Authority role.
Simon is a member of the TTM Industry steering group and holds the representation of the South Island Local Government Road Controlling Authorities.
