Vanessa is the Interim Group General Manager of Transport Services at the NZ Transport Agency.  Transport Services is the business group responsible for the planning, design, delivery, and operations of New Zealand’s integrated transport system and is specifically responsible for the state highway.  She is stepping in while Brett Gliddon steps up as Interim Chief Executive.  

She has been at NZTA for nearly 12 years and in her substantive role as National Manager Te Toki Manawa Portfolio and Standards for the last four of those. Part of the Transport Services business group, the Portfolio and Standards team runs the portfolio office for Transport Services, sets the technical standards, and creates the tactical plan for maintenance and renewal investment in the state highway.   

Transport Services is delivering a very large programme (~$40B),  for both capital investment and maintenance and renewals into the state highway over the next 10 years.  With a focus on delivery excellence, areas of focus include conversion to a new maintenance and delivery contract model, delivering 16 'Roads of National Significance', transforming the way we carry out the investigation and business casing phases of our work and embedding the P3M model into the business.
